Christian
Corresponders (Pen Pals)
Does your
church have any young people in grades 7 – 12?
They might be interested in corresponding with students in China, Russia, or another country who are
taking English and want Pen-pals who speak English.
Each year
the Fellowship of Baptist Educators sponsors a pen-pal program to correspond
with students in English classes abroad.
Teachers inChina,Russia, and
other countries encourage their students to write as a way of improving their
English skills. We like the program
because it gives our young people an opportunity to broaden their horizons and
to be a Christian influence to students who live in countries where mission
work is restricted.

John Carter
who leads the program reports that in 2007 young people in America and Canada provided only half of the
letters that were requested, so he invites all youth leaders to contact him
about participating in 2008. Any group
or individual who would like to participate should contact him at (205) 822-4106,
or email him at
j-fcarter@juno.com
for instructions. He will send full
information about how and what to write, along with when and where to send the
letters.
